Fired over social media
Fired over facebook:
1. My initial reaction was shocking. I don't believe he should have been fired but it also is the companies decision.
2. The employer fired this person because the company didn't not want to be involved in controversial issues either in support or against an issue.
3. The firing was legal because the employer is allowed to look through their employees social media and whether what they post is legal or not, if they find it objectionable it could result to the employer firing this person.
4. I think digital foot print is like leaving ur mark on social media. If you leave a digital foot print its public to everyone and can be used against you.
5. Not always, there are definitely people who know how to get around that. Once it's online it can always get out no matter how private you are on social media.
6. I would tell him to post that on Facebook. I've met multiple people who have gotten fired for social media controversy and I know that there are risks to posting ur opinion online even if you think nobody will ever see it or that it won't affect you. I would warn him about the consequences that might come with that post. I would also tell him that it's not worth posting it because the one post isn't going to change the issue, if anything it will change your whole life because of the various possibilities of punishment that can come with it.
Fired over social media:
1. My initial reaction to this story was completely shocked. I could never see a teacher being so immature and calling students "losers". Especially when you know that social media could end up anywhere and anybody can see it.
2. The school fired Weckesser because she was insubordinate for a long duration of time and wasn't following school conduct.
3. The firing was legal because they had multiple incidents that had led to her firing. Examples that support these incidents is, she was always late to class, she would never complete her grade book and she even allowed her cellphone to go off while students were taking a state exam.
